This is a short little post.

I'm becoming very reliant on my soccer team. Almost unhealthily. I've been with them non-stop for the past 5 days. Probably 5 of the weirdest, most entertaining, memorable, fun days. (I'll write a post about all the shenanigans when it's not 11:41 p.m. and I'm in the study hall room putting off homework)

The point is. I went into my dorm room after this road trip and for the first time in pretty much a week my team wasn't around me and I practically started hyper-ventilating! It's bad. I've got to calm down. But I mean...I guess that's good right? I could be the person that hyper-ventilates while around their team because it's the worst experience ever. But nope!

All-in-all. I really like my team. So that's good. I'd even go as far as to say love, but we've only been dating for like...2 months. So who knows! I'll keep you updated.

Hopefully I don't become an obsessive girlfriend over here.

10 Things I know to be True.

I took this idea from Sarah Kay...well more like I'm putting her work into action. She's an extremely talented Spoken Word Poetry performer. My friend and I both made our own lists of ten things we know to be true. Maybe we'll make something out of them, maybe we won't, but isn't that the beauty of prose?

Ten things I know to be true.
1. I love to dance, badly and awkwardly, but I love it.
2. My mama taught me how to listen and my pop taught me how to be open-minded
3. That I’m not really 100% sure of anything.
4. That there is something bigger than me, I just don’t know what it is yet.
5. There is nothing better than waking up to rain on my window
6. If I could do one thing for the rest of my life, it would be to laugh. Long and hard.
7. Gay people should have the same rights as me to get married and be happy with the person they love
8. That some people try way too hard…and I’m afraid some days I’m one of them
9. Fall will always be my favorite season
10. I never want to be ashamed of who I am.

If you're interested, here's the video of her speaking. It's honestly amazing. (and Selman this isn't a cop-out video, this is just an emphasis video!)

I never anticipated this...

Stevvies. Stevvies everywhere.

I practically live in a cartoon. The type of cartoon where bugs can talk and birds actually respond to your singing. But it's a scary cartoon, like the cartoons they show on Adult Swim at night, when cartoons no longer need to sing about Fun. They can be as creepy and crude as they want and nobody can get mad at them because all the kids are in bed...well every kid but me.

This sounds like it's going to be a dark post. It's not I swear! Just stay with me here.

I live in a beautiful place. It's awesome. Logan in the fall is spectacular. The leaves change into these crazy vibrant colors that you thought were only real in pictures and movies, but then all the sudden  you see them in front of your own eyes and the world has a whole new meaning. Everything here is awesome. Except for one thing...

Box. Elder. Bugs.

They are everywhere. You think I'm kidding, huh? You think I'm being regular, dramatic Jeannie over here that exaggerates everything she ever talks about ever in the whole entire world! I'm not. I'm serious. I've never been so serious about something.

These stupid bugs have taken over my dorm and the bathroom in the English building and they have even dubbed my roommate's contact case their own personal swimming pool.

I swear one night I rolled over in bed and there was a B.E.B on my pillow, watching me sleep, plotting my demise, rubbing his little front legs together like a fly who just landed on a fresh pile of horse shit (sorry for the vulgarities).

My roommates and I have decided to name them Stevvie. Every. Single. One. They're all Stevvie in our eyes. There are about 20 Stevvies in each light fixture, which is terrible because we have about 10 or so light fixtures...you do the math. STEVVIES EVERYWHERE.

I'm starting to go crazy. I'm starting to be apart of this cartoon that is becoming my life. I'm beginning to have conversations with these devil bugs and sometimes they talk back to me. They know my secrets. I'm even beginning to vouch for them. My roommates want to kill them and I find myself screaming out "NO!"
"What? Why can't we kill them?"
*unsure of a good reason* "Well...I...I mean...What's the point, right? Why do we need to kill them?"
"Seriously, Jeannie? I'm pretty sure one's laying eggs in my closet right as we're speaking."
"Well...Just like...put it outside or something?"
"So more Stevvie's can fly in through the window? Ya right."
*continues eating ramen*

Okay so fine. FINE. But now there are dead Stevvie's lying all around the dorm. One hung itself on our mirror. Don't ask me how that works, it just happened. One night Abi, Amy and I sat around on our floor and shot a hair thing at the Stevvie's that are living on our ceiling. We sat there for about 45 minutes. It was one of the funnest nights of my whole college time, and as a result, I ended up peeing my pants. (but that's a story for another day)

So while the Stevvie's watch me sleep, take naps in my shower towel (which was fun to find), climb all over my posters, and what not, they still find a way into our hearts. Also, they provide countless amounts of fun while trying to shoot them down.

This post is dedicated to all the cartoon-talking Stevvie's in our dorm. See ya at home big guys!

Other quick sidenote.

I know I suck at posting lately. But at least I'm aware of it right? It's not like I'm up here at college being all like,
"ya ya I'm so cool. I have a blog and it's getting 10000 hits erryday because I'm the best poster in all the land"

Because first of all, let's get real, I'm barely hitting 20 views. (*sad sigh*) (but also this was said in a funny voice that is suppose to make you laugh and not feel bad) BUT I actually have a draft of a future blog post, and many more ideas of what to write about, I just need to get through this week.

I have too much homework for my own good. A test tomorrow and a million other things. Plus I'm trying out for a comedy show slash play tonight. Wish me luck.

*shouts from a distance* Break a leg!

Awe that's so kind of you disembodied voice.

I'm posting right now because I took a break from studying for the past three and a half hours and found this beaut online. (compliments of thedailywh.at) So now I'm making you watch it. WATCH IT OR FACE THE WRATH OF MY PET DRAGON (WHO I DON'T NORMALLY TALK ABOUT OR HAVE PICTURES OF BECAUSE HE'S TOO SPECIAL TO SHOW THE WORLD...BUT NOW IS THE RIGHT TIME)

Plus. This song is freaking awesome.

The end made me cry. Which was awkward considering I'm in the study hall room with football players and track people and all walks of athletic life.

This topic comes up a lot on my team. Well, for all I know I'm the instigator  We always have deep talks about religion and one thing leads to another and we are on the topic of gay rights.  For example, last night I had a good hour to hour and a half conversation with some of my teammates about it. Maybe I'll go into detail about it someday, but I gotta get back to studying. Today is not that day!

Support baby. Hard core support. That's all that's gotta be said.

Stay tuned this weekend for an exciting, thought-provoking, in-depth summary of funny things that happen in Jeannie's life. (which recently there have been few...)

Till then!
